MILANO, 7 APRIL 2008 - Kennametal Inc., a leading global supplier of tooling, engineered components and advanced materials consumed in production processes, opens its new technology centre in Milano today. The spacious center with a surface of 280 m² is subdivided into a technical demonstration center (170 m²), equipped with new CNC machines for practical demonstrations, and a lecture room (110 m²).

The technology center, built in the Italian location of Kennametal in Milano, offers room for further development of technological solutions and for integrated services. These comprise, for example, technical tests in cooperation with customers and a regrinding service. In addition, the technology center includes a lecture room where training courses of one to three days are held for customers, Kennametal's own sales staff and distributors. These courses comprise basic training, technical advanced training, theoretical and technical reinforcement courses as well as specialized workshops on the most recent materials.

On occasion of the event, Simone Pratesi, Managing Director of Kennametal Italy, said: „The technology center is a first important step to achieve the growth targets which we have set for ourselves. Through the technical demonstration center and the extension of the regrinding center, we want to fulfil in the best possible way the higher and higher requirements of a permanently growing branch. It is our goal to position ourselves in Italy as a global enterprise offering a 360° program comprising both standard and customer-specific solutions as well as additional services for achieving operative top performances."
